A completed application form, digital photograph and copy of transcripts for all university-level degrees (if applicable and excluding those taken at UCD) are required. A telephone or personal interview with the Programme Director may form part of the admission process to help determine whether the programme is the most appropriate solution for the applicant.
In-person programme - This Autumn 2023, our suite of Professional Diplomas will be delivered in-person at Smurfit Executive Development on UCD's Smurfit School Blackrock campus to facilitate the best learning experience for participants. Participants are required to attend in person. In exceptional circumstances, we may be able to facilitate an alternative delivery option but each request will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis by our Programme Director & Programme Management Team.
This programme is suitable for middle or senior managers who currently occupy, or are being groomed for, board memberships, or who carry governance-related positions of responsibility. It is also suitable for executives in organisations who do not have a legal board, but have equivalent governance arrangements. Participants should have at least 5 years management experience and hold a primary degree or equivalent professional qualification. Consideration will be given to applicants who do not hold a primary degree but their depth of industry and organisational experience qualifies them as suitable participants.
The fee of €15,940 or €15,143 (UCD Business Alumni Discount) is a comprehensive cost that includes tuition, all course related materials, lunches and refreshments while on campus. There are no additional overheads. We offer staged payments and there is no interest charged for choosing this option.
Important Note: Tuition fees and other charges are subject to change each year. Click here to read more.

Tax relief is available on tuition fees for participants who wish to self-fund. Please see www.revenue.ie for further information on how to apply for this relief. All decisions on individual tax relief requests are subject to the discretion of the Revenue Commissioners.
On successful completion of the programme, participants will be awarded the Professional Diploma in Corporate Governance by UCD Smurfit Executive Development (30 ECTS at NFQ Level 9). This diploma forms part of the MSc in Business (Leadership and Management Practice) Pathway.
